Application Window:

We have two application windows a year when applications can be submitted:

  • April 1st thru May 31st for Fall Semester reimbursement with payment at end of July.
  • October 1st thru November 30th for Spring and Summer reimbursement with payment at end of January.

Any applications submitted outside of the application window will automatically be denied and the applicant must reapply during the open application window.

Eligibility requirements:

  • I have been employed with Hamra Enterprises for a minimum of thirty (30) days
  • I am enrolled in classes at an accredited institution or approved leadership training, including the GED exam. (Note: Vocational courses will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Daycare and primary or secondary private school are not eligible)
  • I am an employee in active/LOA status at time of award disbursement OR I am the dependent child of an employee in active/LOA status at time of award disbursement.

Reimbursement Awards may be granted to cover costs associated with completion of approved educational courses. This award may cover complete or partial cost of qualified educational expenses such as fees, tuition and books required for class completion.

To be approved you must provide necessary documentation by the application deadline (see below), including proof the course was completed with a passing grade (C or better) or certificate of successful completion and any receipts for eligible expenses.

Award Amount:

All approved applications will receive awards.

The amount awarded is contingent on the number of applications approved and not to exceed $1,000 per approved applicant per calendar year and a family maximum of $3,000 per calendar year. The lifetime award maximum for a recipient and their family is $5,000**

Awards will be disbursed at the end of July and the end of January, depending on the disbursement period you are applying for.

Please Note:

** Awards will be disbursed bi-annually. The maximum educational reimbursement per disbursement period will be $35,000. If grants total over $35,000 in that disbursement period, we will reduce all the grants by the same percentage to successfully stay within the max amount available for disbursement.

All previously approved leadership training courses are eligible for the Tuition Reimbursement Fund award unless otherwise directed by HERO Fund Board of Directors. All decisions of the committee are final. The HERO Fund reserves the right to amend or cancel this program on an annual basis with changes occurring for next calendar year.

Student Loan Refinance:

Hamra Enterprises is providing a student loan refinance benefit through Unsaddl. Unsaddl partners with Credible to provide student loan refinance across 10 national lenders for FREE.

Employees can lower their monthly student loan payment by refinancing their student loan to one with a longer loan term or one with a lower interest rate.

Through Unsaddl’s partnership with Credible, employees will receive:

$500 gift card when they refinance at least $100,000 in student loans

$250 gift card when they refinance any other amount of student loans
