Launching June 1st

Eligibility:

  • 18 or older: Yes
  • Tenure required: 6 months or more
  • Amount of Grant: not to exceed $500 per situation and there is a cap of $10,000 in eligible grants every six months.
  • All drivers must have a valid driver’s license and insurance required by state of residence

*Employees are eligible to receive 1 (one) transportation grant in their lifetime.

Please Note: Grant funding is only available for reimbursement of expenses. Receipts for expenses related to one of the above eligible events must be submitted as documentation with the online application.

Public Transportation

Not to exceed $500 per situation and there is a cap of $10,000 in eligible grants every 6 months.
If the employee’s public transportation is no longer available (such as a bus route is shut down)

One of the following:
• News article
• Official document from town transportation organization (could be a sign posted or something from their offices)
• Validation the person typically uses that form of transportation (through GM or receipts)

Mode of Transportation Issue

Not to exceed $500 per situation and there is a cap of $10,000 in eligible grants every 6 months.

If the employee’s mode of transportation is dependent on a family member or someone else, that person’s transportation is in some state of being non-functioning or unexpectedly unavailable.

One of the following:
• Estimate from ASE certified mechanic for parts/labor.
• Video of trying to start a car.
• Tow truck bill
• Inspection report
• GM statement verifying the employee has been using this transportation method for at least 30 days and it is no longer available.

Car Repair or Not Passing Inspection

Not to exceed $500 per situation and there is a cap of $10,000 in eligible grants every 6 months

If the employee’s car is unsafe to drive or non-functioning because of necessary, repair or not passing inspection.

Car title/registration must be in the employee’s name (unless someone else is form of transportation – requires a GM statement verifying they use someone else as their transportation to and from work)

AND one of the following:

  • Estimate from ASE certified mechanic for parts/labor
  • GM statement
  • Video of trying to start a car
  • Tow truck bill
  • Inspection report

Car accident

Not to exceed $500 per situation and there is a cap of $10,000 in eligible grants every 6 months

If an employee’s car is rendered unsafe or non-functioning because of a car accident where the applicant is not at fault

• Car title/registration must be in employee’s name (unless someone else’s form of transportation – requires a GM statement verifying they use someone else as their transportation to and from work)
• Police report
