Application Window:
We have two application windows a year when applications for Child Care Assistance can be submitted:
- January 1-31st: for child care expenses from August-December with funds paid out by end of February
- August 1-31st: for child care expenses from January-July with funds paid out by end of September
Adoption Assistance Applications may be submitted at any time.
Day Care Assistance
Grants are only paid for reimbursement, and receipts must be provided at the time of application to receive funding.
Funding is guaranteed for the first 100 approved applications, for a maximum program payout of $35,000 per application window (100 grants at a max of $350 each). Applications will be approved in the order in which they are received with ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION.
The amount awarded is contingent on the number of applications approved and not to exceed $350 per approved applicant per calendar year and a family maximum of $700 per calendar year. Applicant’s may receive 1 Child Care Assistance Grant per funding window,
Awards will be disbursed at the end of September and the end of February, depending on the disbursement period you are applying for.
Please Note:
** Awards will be disbursed bi-annually. The maximum childcare reimbursement per disbursement period will be $35,000 (100 grants with a maximum disbursement of $350 each).
Reimbursement of out-of-pocket childcare expenses for dependent child(ren) aged 6 week-12 yrs. This includes expenses for family childcare homes, group childcare homes, childcare centers, drop-in childcare centers, before and after school care and day camps during school breaks. Childcare providers must be licensed by the employee’s state of work or residence.
Applicants must provide verification they are financially responsible for the dependent child(ren) with both of the following:
a. Birth certificate for child(ren) with employee’s listed as parent OR court documentation stating the employee has legal guardianship of the minor child or is financially responsible for the child’s care AND
b. Childcare bill/invoice/receipt listing the employee as the responsible party
Adoption assistance
Up to $2,000 for the expenses of the adoption process. Payment would be made directly to the employee. Initial payment, up to $500, to cover the cost of the home study. Remaining payment, up to $1,500, after receipts for adoption related expenses submitted.
Eligible employees interested in beginning the adoption process for an individual under the age of 18 or 21 (according to their state’s law) or who is physically or mentally incapable of self-care.
• Statement indicating financial responsibility from adoption or legal agency.
• Copy of adoption application and completed home study or estimated cost of home study.
• Receipts for any required travel expenses related to the adoption.
• Other expenses that are directly related to, and for the principal purpose of, the legal adoption of an eligible child, such as clothing, hygiene supplies, school supplies, furniture for the child, medical necessities/expenses, etc.
