We’re turning 10 in 2021!

In 2010, Mike Hamra saw the need for an emergency assistance fund for the employees of Hamra Enterprises, and a small group of leaders within the organization was tasked with putting Mike’s vision into action, some of whom are still with the organization. The HERO Fund was registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 2010 and officially began offering grants on February 1, 2011, as they say, the rest is history.

In addition to a Steering Committee, a Board of Directors and an administration team were also created to oversee the HERO Fund, which initially provided emergency grants. Fast forward 10 years later, we now have a home-buying assistance program in Chicago,Tuition Reimbursement grants, and our new WorkLife partnership providing guidance and resources to employees in all areas of their lives.

We are a strong community from various backgrounds and we want to continue supporting more employees and their families. If you are a donor, you have helped many employees in ways you may never understand but one thing is certain, YOU ARE A HERO!

The Contest: We want you to create a 10-year anniversary logo! We all know and love the Hamra Hero logo, star, and mascot, and we want you to create something special for the 10-year anniversary. And it only makes sense if that logo comes from one of our HEROES! Mike Hamra will be virtually announcing the logo contest winner live with prize in hand.
